A Brief Disagreement by animator Steve Cutts is a masterful sub 3-minute short exploring ‘mankind’s favourite pastime throughout the ages’, as Steve describes it – or to put it simply, war. Steve drew the film by hand frame by frame using Clip Studio Paint with After Effects for compositing.
In many ways this furiously-paced short film is strikingly similar to This Land is Mine (2014) by Nina Paley, which explores a very similar theme, but is set more specifically in the Levant region of the Middle East which has been fought over for millennia (give that a watch too, it’s a masterpiece).
