In a cozy French café-bar, a young man becomes captivated by a beautiful girl who just walked in. As he works up the courage to approach her, his imagination takes over, playing out bold, absurd and increasingly demented scenarios in his mind to win her over — in apparent competition with the older, more experienced bartender.
Blending reality with fantasy, Happy Hour uses innovative animation techniques to bring the protagonist’s wild daydreams to life, seamlessly shifting between styles to mirror his swirling thoughts. With humour and striking visuals, the film explores the broadening gap between fantasy and reality in the main character’s pursuit of a mating opportunity.
